Press Release: Bailey Endorses Phelen

Colorado Congressional District 4 – Former GOP Colorado Congressional District 4 candidate, Mariel
Bailey, has endorsed Congressman Doug Lamborn’s former Chief of Staff, Chris Phelen, in the race for the 4th Congressional District.

Bailey originally joined the race for the 4th District in December of 2023 and ended her campaign in January of this year. In making her decision to step aside, Mariel considered all other GOP candidates running and ultimately determined Phelen would be the best candidate to represent the district.

“I got into this race because I thought it was important for someone to lead District 4 who has a proven track record of getting things done in the legislature at the federal level,” said Bailey. “With a decade of experience, Chris is exactly what Colorado’s 4th needs and what we need in the House of Representatives.” Bailey continued, “Chris’s experience as Chief of Staff to Congressman Lamborn, as well as his work with the Armed Services Committee, will be invaluable to the District. Unlike Lauren Boebert, I know Chris will be an effective leader for our District, and I am proud to be on Team Phelen.”

“Mariel is a strict conservative with a vast amount of legislative experience, who has been highly successful during her time on Capitol Hill,” Phelen replied. “I am deeply honored to accept her endorsement and welcome her to the team with open arms.”
