What I stand for
I stand for true fiscal conservatism and restoring the correct balance of power between the Federal Government, States, and the American People. I stand for reducing the powers of the Federal Government to the intended role as written in the Constitution. I stand for reducing bureaucracy, taxation, and overregulation of state and federal governments, particularly related to the growing compliance and regulatory burdens placed upon small business owners in Colorado. I stand for Congress fulfilling its primary role to protect American citizens with a secured border and a strong military. I stand for individual rights as bestowed upon the people by the Constitution.
The Economy
Our economy is doing well for Wall Street but not for Main Street. We need to halt inflation, lower taxes, and create more jobs to ensure that our economy flourishes now and into the future.
Tough on Drugs
Increasing the penalty for Fentanyl possession will do little to resolve the issue. We can help put an end to illegal Fentanyl and related drugs by stopping drugs at our ports of entry, intercepting and destroying drugs in international waters, and taking out illegal Fentanyl producers.
Securing the Border
It is imperative that we resolve the border crisis by stopping illegal immigration at the border and deporting those who try to enter our country uninvited.
Gun Rights
The Second Amendment was a foundational piece of our constitution, and an armed populace where people can protect themselves remains a crucial component of our republic.
Fiscal Responsibility
Our government needs to be as responsible as the people that it serves. We must balance our budget, stop spending outside of our means, and cut redundant and ineffective programs.
Energy Security
While we should consider all forms of energy production, including nuclear fission and fusion, we should do so in a manner that will allow us to phase down what were intended to be temporary tax-based subsidies while moving toward a more sustainable energy policy.
The Environment
In the same way that we would protect our homes, we should protect our national lands and waterways through reasonable maintenance of the environment.
Protecting Our Homes
We need to provide an overhaul of the U.S. Forest Service and other federal regulatory agencies to ensure that people are able to protect their properties and homes from all wildfires, including those that begin on public lands.
Homelessness & Migrant Crisis
Colorado has more than 30,000 homeless, a number which grows daily due to the busing of migrants by other states. Relocation of migrants is unwise, costly, and a potential public safety hazard for all involved, and we must stop this compounding and unsustainable problem.
National & Homeland Security
We must defend our country from enemies, both foreign and domestic. To do so effectively, we must maintain our dominance as the world’s greatest military power and ensure law enforcement entities have the funding they need to perform their jobs.
Veterans
We need to honor our promises to those who have served our country by providing them with the services that they deserve. Thus, we should consider opening additional VA community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in underserved areas of Colorado.
Parental Rights and Education
Bureaucrats in Washington should not be making decisions for Colorado parents. Federal laws and funding programs should be reformed to allow parents to choose the best education for their children.
Judeo-Christian Values
Judeo-Christian values were paramount in the formation of our constitutional republic, and we should never deviate from the belief that all people “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”
Protecting Women and the Unborn
It is paramount that we protect all lives – whether a baby with a heartbeat in utero or a mother bearing a child – to the best of our abilities.
Foreign Aid
While foreign aid can be a valuable tool in diplomatic relations, we should conduct a more vigorous cost-benefit analysis before providing any aid and must better monitor the expenditure of the aid to ensure it is utilized in the manner we intended.
Supporting Israel
Every sovereign nation has the right to protect its citizens and its homeland, and Israel is doing just that by responding to a Hamas-led terrorist attack and attempting to free Israeli hostages. Furthermore, as one of Israel’s strongest allies since the inception of its modern State in 1948, the United States should never waver in its support for Israel.
Limited Government
While some people may confuse our nation as a democracy, the United States is truly a representative republic. As such, both its citizens and those elected to represent them in Congress are bound by the rights afforded to the people and the limited powers bestowed upon the government by the Constitution.
Water
Water is the lifeblood of Colorado. It is a resource more precious than gold, and we must value it as such.
