Press Release: Phelen Meets Ballot Requirement and Announces Special Election Candidacy
REPUBLICAN CHRIS PHELEN MEETS REQUIREMENT FOR PRIMARY BALLOT AND ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR SPECIAL ELECTION IN CO-04
March 20th, 2024 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Colorado Congressional District 4 – Today, Republican Chris Phelen announced he has
submitted the required signatures for the Republican Primary Ballot and announced his candidacy
for the Special Election to represent Colorado’s 4th Congressional District for the remainder of the
118th Congress.
“I am the only candidate with proven legislative success in the United States Congress. I have been
fighting for Colorado for the past twenty years, and that includes serving as Military Legislative
Assistant and Chief of Staff to Rep. Doug Lamborn. During this time, we successfully passed
legislation that created Israel’s ‘Iron Dome,’ enhanced our nation’s missile defense systems, and
improved national security with the expansion of military installations and projects, bringing
billions in new funding to Colorado,” Phelen stated.
“Experience in our State Legislature, while a noble public service, is not equivalent nor directly
preparatory for a seat in Congress. These are two vastly different systems with unique rules,
procedures, and processes. It takes significant time to learn the new system and work effectively.
We need solutions now, which is why I am the only qualified candidate to take on this tremendous
responsibility.”
“I pledge to the voters of the 4th that I will have legislation ready to introduce on my first day of
office that changes the trajectory of this nation and betters the lives of all people in the state of
Colorado. With a decade of experience, I am exactly what Colorado’s 4th District needs in the
House of Representatives.”
