Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was “almost entirely ignored” at a major debate Monday night in the Colorado congressional district she hopes to claim, according to a new report.
Only one of Boebert’s fellow Republican candidates in the crowded District 4th race deigned to levy an attack against the headline-making MAGA firebrand, reports the Colorado Sun.
“Are you sick and tired of people that are coming to Congress just to get more social media hits?” Chris Phelen reportedly asked the crowd.
“I am — and that’s what I think that someone up on this stage is doing.”
Boebert appeared at the Douglas County debate after a controversial decision late last year to abandon a risky race against Democratic challenger Adam Frisch in the district she currently represents, opting instead to run in Republicans’ safest district in the state.
While Boebert’s new challengers don’t have her name recognition, they have an arsenal of headline-making scandals and carpetbagging claims to fire at her, should they feel the need.
According to the report, they did not feel that need Monday night.
Boebert quickly blamed Democrats for failures in the House, then defended what the Colorado Sun dubbed her social media megaphone, saying, “I have used that bully pulpit to get a lot of things done."
But it appears a real megaphone might have done Boebert more good.

“The other candidates on stage almost entirely ignored Boebert and stuck to their talking points,” the report noted.
After the debate, the Sun spoke with two undecided voters; one who had not ruled out Boebert and one who had.
Ann Auhll told the Sun she wants a representative in Congress who understands “the rural aspects of life.”
“Boebert doesn’t understand that,” said Auhll. According to the Sun, Auhll, “pointed to Boebert’s refusal to back more military aid for Ukraine and what that could mean for fertilizer.”
